Is the government not telling us how bad the environment is?

You can do your own research and no need to depend on the government for information.

Simple logic. Don’t shit where you eat. Take care of the earth!!

We go through these periods called ice ages, etc, independent of pollution.

I think the folks who should wonder if the government is withholding information are the Europeans. Because without the Arctic, I'm no scientist, but I heard decades ago when this wasn't such a sexy topic that when the Arctic ice melts, and the Atlantic Jet Stream stops, Europe will be very, very cold. Maybe some covered in ice, I don't know. I have assumed that would all happen eventually.

Well who knows but I do agree, if Jet Stream stops, Europe will be much colder. France is at a more northern latitude than Nova Scotia!

I'm end of jet stream poster above.

Let's assume climate is changing.

If hurricanes are coming to Florida, do they post memes on social media to call Congresspersons to stop it, and advocate ending use of fossil fuel? Hell no. You cannot stop or change weather. They board up their windows, get sandbags, etc. and PREPARE.

Preparing is not buying a hybrid vehicle or biking. That is getting lost in the weeds so you cannot see the forest.

Preparing to me would look more like planning for rising sea levels, consider DC is below sea level, . . and planning for our food sources. California provides half of our country's food. What happens when they have no water for irrigation? Where will our food come from? Why is Bill Gates buying up farmland right now.

It would be liberating to know that. Because I’d settle a lot of scores before it all ended.

Whenever dems controlled the White House, both chambers of congress, and had a majority in the Supreme Court.

Whenever that happens, “the environment” is never discussed.

When will the government finally admit the truth about climate change and aliens?

When has that happened? Maybe the 90s, though I’m not sure of the SC at that point.

Oh, I get it. This is like the GOP claiming that covid was all an election lie and it would magically go away after the election. Turns out, a bunch of silly and unserious Republicans bent on extending Covid have made it last a lot longer, pretty much out of spite and a desire to hurt people. So, no, climate change isn’t going to magically go away.

It's this. They miscalculated. Apparently measurable changes started in the 1950s.

They have the presidency and both houses and are doing nothing.

Agree. NOTHING. I am scared.

Government scientists at EPA, NOAA, NASA, USDA and countless other agencies have been saying this for years. Thousands of government scientists publish articles, work on the IPCC reports, participate in the annual COPs.

Every time we make progress on legislation a republican administration comes in and undoes it. Congress won’t consistently fund us to do climate work or fund the infrastructure changes necessary to transition.

The government is not lying to you. Elected officials aren’t even lying (in most cases), they’re just happily taking money to be obstructionist because they’ll be dead before the worst of the consequences hit.

Same. I’m beginning to view the Earth as Gaia and she will recover. Us, not so much.
