My kid got $32K from Oberlin with a 36 ACT and a 4.0 UW GPA.

Did your DC go or pick another school?

Not sure if the 3.9 is W or UW, but my DC got nearly $40K from St. Lawrence with similar stats and $7500 from Clemson.

How much merit aid did your DC get from American? My kid is very interested in American, but I had no idea they even gave merit aid. Could it possibly equal in-state tuition at a state U?

Six years ago, my DC got merit from Juniata, Gettysburg, Muhlenberg, U of Mary Washington, Lehigh, Dickinson. She went to state U because she got into the honors college and it was half the price of the private colleges with merit, and about 2/3 the price of UMW with merit.
