This is explicitly false. You absolutely can. You shouldn’t ask why someone chose not to be vaccinated. Or, at least, you need to be very careful not to say anything that would illicit personal medical conditions that could be discriminatory.

It may be legal to ask for the information but it's absolutely true that Fed supervisors have been directed not to ask.

People have been going to restaurants unmasked throughout the pandemic. There's no reason a restaurant should ask someone now. I say this as someone who just went to a restaurant for the first time yesterday since March 2020.

We need to get over this weird "Trump cause this problem" politics and move forward. As long as we try and blame everything on Trump it is directly inhibiting our ability to make forward progress. How do we get DC vaccinated? We are awash in vaccine and DC health has never seemed more inept. We should be at 80% vaccinated and we still don't have seniors all vaccinated. How does DC take care of DC?

Once 80% of DC residents are vaccinated, I might feel like everybody in the restaurant unmasked is actually vaccinated but with less than 36% vaccinated, why would I believe that everybody who is out and about unmasked is actually vaccinated?

If COVID has proven one thing over the past 18 months it is that people are selfish. Why should I trust they are looking out for my interests now?

We've been told the opposite- we need to confirm that anyone not wearing masks has been vaccinated. We don't need documentation, but we have been told to ask.

If a person must show vaccine card. how will any one check it know it is really them without an id?

Black people are less likely to have an i.d because republicans make it so hard to get one.

All this would do is put Jim Crow-like restrictions on where black people can go and what they are allowed to do.

Who in DC cannot get an ID? There is not a single man, woman or child in DC that cannot get an ID card or for that matter a vaccine if above 12 yo.

In fact there are a dozen non profits in DC who exist partly just to help people get ID cards.

Who cares if someone is not vaccinated. They only put themselves at risk. If you are vaccinated they can’t hurt you. And if you are a responsible unvaccinated person you’re wearing a mask so you are fine. Let the unvaccinated do whatever they want. They will anyway.

Seatbelts in cars are options or at least honor system (I guess iii can be ticketed if pullled over for another reason and also not wearing a seatbelt). The only person who is at risk for not wearing a seatbelt is the person who is not wearing the seatbelt! It doesn’t matter whether I’m wearing a seatbelt in my car I’m not helping anyone else except myself I don’t care what risks other people take. And if I’m not vaccinated I’m responsible enough to protect myself by wearing a mask, double masking if I’m really concerned, or staying home if I’m really really concerned. In the meantime let the people who want to take their masks off take their risks and deal with the repercussions!

In Maryland, the police can pull you over for not wearing a seatbelt - and cite you, too.

Also, if you're wearing your seatbelt when you get into a crash, you're helping first responders and health care providers, who would otherwise have to deal with your serious injuries or death.
