Why do you have to reply like such a douche? |

To summarize: Accepted Asians have median SAT scores 60 points above accepted whites, 130 points above accepted Hispanics, and 240 points above accepted blacks. Accepted Asians have median GPAs .02 above accepted whites, .09 above accepted Hispanics, and .19 above accepted blacks. |
+1. |
Yikes. So in admissions process who are Asian students compared against? Just other Asians or rest of applicant pool? |
| Is it me or does this sounds like one guy writing both sides of the dialog? |

Regardless of percentages the academic performance requirements for Asians are higher than any other group by a significant margin

The answer was posted. This is it. |

It has been well documented that Asians Americans have to pass a much high barrier to get into selective schools.
There was a lawsuit against Harvard University by an advocacy group representing Asians students. And Harvard had to disclose some of its admission policy against Asians, "Harvard itself found a statistically significant penalty against Asian-American applicants in an internal investigation in 2013, but had never made the findings public or acted on them." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Students_for_Fair_Admissions_v._Harvard Plaintiffs and commentators have compared the treatment of Asians with the Jewish quota in place in the early 20th century, which used the allegedly “deficient” personalities of immigrant Jews as the reason for excluding non-legacy Jews in elite universities. |
| Of course. It’s harder to get into any decent college if you are Asian! |
That is not the answer. You need to know the objective qualifications (e.g. SAT and GPA) of the accepted populations by group. |
This is the answer: https://www.ceousa.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Preferences20in20Virginia20Higher20Education20-20September202019.pdf The link to Bacon's Rebellion uses this data. |
I think so too. Traditionally, Asians have wanted their children to attend TJ in order to attend UVA ( and maybe a couple other choice colleges) - but nothing is a given, nowadays. Nothing. |
| It is harder to get into almost every university if you're Asian. Gotta have better grades and test scores than everyone else. |
Even that’s not good enough anymore really. You can have great stats, but with ‘holistic’ admission practices they can still decide that you don’t ‘fit’ their criteria based on nothing concrete. |
