Lots of Pfizer vaccine appointments in Salisbury

You have to actively look, it's going to take a while if you wait for an invitation to schedule an appointment. Go to the massvax website. There have been tons of appointments available the last few times I checked.

Preregistering has done nothing for me but if you check mdvax.info or even just call the M and T site you might find something.

It’s a stupid effing system though that has all of us calling checking 15 different websites

Go to the mass vax site - https://massvax.maryland.gov/ - enter in Salisbury or Hagerstown or Greenbelt or M & T. Know a ton of folks who got J & J at Hagerstown over the weekend.

When I go to that site I’m only given the choice of Hagerstown or Salisbury. M&T is scheduled elsewhere and AFAIK no one can self-schedule for Greenbelt

I think they only post appointments for the lower-utilization sites. If you preregister and select Greenbelt as a top choice, they will contact you.

Phase 3 was just eligible today so it will probably take a couple of days. The key is to select the sites with availability. I selected Hagerstown and Salisbury and got notified right away. If I'd selected Germantown and six flags I'd probably still be waiting.

Also Phase 3, preregistered the same day Hogan opened up preregistration to everyone, picked Six Flags and got a text a couple of days later to schedule. DH picked Germantown, he's still waiting

Preregistration doesn't work as well as proactively signing up.
Go to https://massvax.maryland.gov/
Type in Salisbury as the location.
You'll have your pick of days and times. (Looks like a lot more availability for Pfizer than J&J).
If for some reason things look full when you first go, simply refresh the page.

I don’t want to drive to Salisbury. Why can’t they send the shots to where they are needed?!

I am tempted, but if I have to go to Salisbury then I will just go to rehoboth de and get shot there and check on 2nd home. I really don’t want to drive 3 hours to de for vaccine. Why is fairfax county so slow? High population I guess.

Wow, if I lived in Fairfax and had a second home in Delaware I would’ve been to Salisbury already. just go on a Friday, get the shot, keep going, and then spend the weekend there. Repeat three weeks later. It’s not exactly on the way but it’s pretty close. We have a second home in New Jersey and got vaccinated there a month ago.

This what I did, though I came from Bethesda, got the shot in Salisbury (in and out in approximately 17 minutes, including the 15 minute post-shot observation period), and continued on to Bethany, which is 50 minutes away. I spent my money on fries and frozen custard in DE, so no joy for Hogan. To the prior PP, Deleware was not vaccinating non-residents as of a couple weeks ago, so double-check that before deciding.

Maybe that is what I will do then. Does Salisbury vaccinate on Saturday?

WTH is going on with Germantown? Is that really even a site? I haven't heard anyone getting a vax there and if you google it the latest update was from before the supposed launch.

All the MD vaccine hunter FB groups have no mentions of it.

Like others, I don't want to drive to Salisbury. I'd prefer the 2 dose but I guess I could drive to Hagerstown for the one dose. It's one hour away, so not brutal.

I just feel like all of us who chose Germantown got screwed over and I'm pissed.

Call and see if you can change your preference. Everyone I know who put Greenbelt or Six Flags as their first choice is getting appointments. You can also go to the M&T stadium in Baltimore as a walk-up or call them directly for an appointment.

I was told you can not change your preference. You need to re-register. Some even recommend registering multiple time with several different first preferences. I agree the demand for Germantown must be huge. I have heard nothing and decided to drive the Hagerstown over the weekend. I resent that Hogan can no figure out a way to get more shots to this area.

Why did I have to trek to an empty store in Hagerstown when there are tons of empty stores right here...Lake Forest Mall for example.

Hogan has been terrible at vaccine rollout.

Completely agree. East MD should have their site but at the same time with most populous counties. Hogan made a bad political move. I thought he was smarter than that.

Eastern shore is his base. In his mind, it was a fine political calculation.
