We have a Max- super common but it’s a great name.
Other names on our list (also Jewish but not orthodox) Noah Micah Other names along these lines Boaz Aaron Jacob (seems to have waned in popularity) Seth Zachary Asher Ezekiel David Avi/Avidan Ari Eli |
|
Eli and Ari do not seem like complete names to me.
I prefer Elijah and Arion or similar. |

Nathan/Nate
Harry/Harrison Marcus Bobby Yale Scott Steve Jeremiah Louis Charles |
My 15 year old Asher is a great kid too and I always get compliments on the name. It was not popular in 2005! |
| I have a 1 year old Ari (so that's my vote!), but I also loved Ezra. |
| Elias |

Never heard of Arion before so i don’t think it’s Jewish. The longer Jewish form of Ari would be Aryeh or Ariel (which is traditionally a boys name, still is in Israel) |
| Lev seems very Russian to me. Which is not nearly a bad thing but if you’re not actually Russian i guarantee he’ll get questions about it. |
|
I really like Lev and don’t think it’s too “out there” though I’m not Jewish so I wouldn’t use it myself.
I also like PP’s suggestion Robert and nn Robbie Also, here are some names of brothers of kids I know named Theo: Henry, Max, Jack, Miles, Oliver |
How many syllables for last name? Samuel, David, Felix, August, Benjamin, Saul, Joel., Alexander, Noah, Henry, Joshua Congrats! |
But they are complete names and the ones you listed are entirely separate names not long forms of the first 2. It’s like saying John isn’t a complete name because it should be Jonathan. Or Claire is incomplete and should be Clarice. |
And yet my opinion stands. I clearly said “to me”. Ari is a terrible name as a stand alone. |
Yes but your opinion makes you sound like a very rigid uptight person who doesn’t know anyone from different cultures/ethnicities. |
