Don't do this to your child's future employer, LOL!

“Boy names”.... the ones you’d consider are no longer considered “boy names” Moreso unisex although I don’t love that term either. Choose a family name... your dad, DH, brother... or a surname.

Porter, Morrisen, Brooks, Lincoln, Chatham, Lacy, etc

Ferrari, Petit, Brown, White, Black, Blanc, Young, Cox, McDonald, Graves, Iglesias, Ek, Little, etc.

Przemyslaw, Wladyslaw, Stanislaw, Roch, Kazimierz, Ignatz, ...

Will never happen due to misogyny. Boy names for girls is considered strong and a good thing but girl names for boys is considered weak and bad. That’s why when girls take “boy” names they turn into girl names.

A friend has daughters Devin and Reece.

This trend makes me sad though. I named my son what I thought was clearly a boy name and have been asked several times "male or female" when giving his name. There are 93847502938475 awesome girl names--why take one of the traditionally male names?

Which has apparently been going on since the 1600s, a point we have helpfully belabored already in this thread.

Go for it PP. Nobody wants Angelica anyway.

That being said, when I was looking for names for DD, I really liked the name Aidan, not realizing it was a boy's name. It seemed to me like it would have been a great name for a girl.

I know a woman named Aiden. It can be done! I love it.

Yes, it sounds like Eden.

Such misogynism . Boy names sound cooler because they sound tough, smart, assertive! Just stop and think for a moment.

I wouldn't give a girl a boy's name because it seems mysoginistic and potentially confusing. I knew a girl named Kevin & she hated it. I also knew a girl named Studley.

However, I think Dale Junette is about the coolest cowgirl name ever.

Avery. I actually like it better as a girls name than a boys name.
