IVF Success Stories - "Unexplained" and/or Male Factor

9:04 here — should have clarified that we got 14 or so eggs (I forget the exact number) from the one egg retrieval, not that we retrieved one egg.

All FET because my hormone levels weren’t where the doctor wanted them after the retrieval.

Hi OP,

Dh and I had trouble conceiving in my late twenties with our first (he was 30.) he had low morphology and I have suspected endometriosis. We ended up conceiving our first spontaneously while waiting to start IVF, but suspected we’d need IVF for our second, and a couple of years later, sure enough we did (morphology even lower now.) ivf cycle with ICSI was a success at a NY clinic. I had 20 eggs retrieved, 18 mature, 16 fertilized and 11 made it to 5 day blasts. We did PGT testing - 8 were normal, of varying quality, 2 mosaic and 1 chromosomally abnormal. I had my frozen transfer a few weeks later and am very early along in my pregnancy- hopefully it sticks.

Best of luck to you. As others have pointed out, ICSI goes a long way with male factor issues. I took coq10 for a few months before stims to help boost my egg quality.

Unexplained infertility.

First IVF cycle retrieved 23 eggs. Froze on day three (5 embryos). Two failed FETs (two embryos each transfer, one lost in thaw).

Second IVF cycle retrieved 6 eggs. Transferred two embryos in fresh cycle on day three, one took and is upstairs napping right now. Two embryos are in cryo.

Yes, it was a surprise. I was on the borderline of hyper stimulation the first round. The second retrieval I cried on the drive home because I was so upset I only had six eggs retrieved when the first round I’d had four times more and still hadn’t gotten pregnant. It sounds so cheesy, but it really just takes one to work.

DH <1 million sperm due to obstructive azoospermia
Got PG on gas fumes of sperm, now healthy 3 yo
Failed surgery to fix blockage
IVF for #2. Find out I have crappy AMH in the process. Stimmed for 11 days on higher dose of meds (I forget the numbers right now). 13 eggs retrieved /10 mature /10 fertilized with ICSI/8 blasts. Untested. First FET was a take home baby. 7 still on ice

I forgot, healthy sperm were found during the procedure and frozen. More were taken during egg retrieval day via biopsy

We had male factor issues, morphology and motility. Did some IUIs which failed. Had success at Cornell with IVF and ICSI at age 39. Also I did accupuncture and chinese herbs. From the frozen ones done at age 39, got pregnant successfully at 41. GOOD LUCK and hang in there !
