Bearded dragon vs. Hamster: which is easier to take care of?

Neither unless you really want one of these animals as a pet and really want to take care of it. An 8 yr old can't be responsible for all the care and upkeep needed for a pet.

Hamsters may or may not like to be held. They squirm, kids get scared and can easily crush them or let them go and now they are running through your home. Hamsters are up at night running on their wheels or climbing.

Bearded dragons are ok. Not my thing really and you have to work at making them interactive and they have habit requirements and they have a longer life.
