I would just start trying for a baby now at your ages and assuming your relationship in a good place. If you have no success within 6 months, do IVF. As others have pointed out, even if you’re lucky and get pregnant quickly, it’s still a year+ away.
IVF is also not a snap your fingers process. You have to get into a clinic, do testing on specific days of your cycle- so you can be waiting a couple of months right there, deal with insurance pre approvals and medication orders, and often, start birth control for a few weeks before the injections and stimulation begin. By the time all is said and done, it could be four months from now. The injections themselves weren’t bad for me. The high emotional and financial stakes are the difficult parts, which is why I would just start trying for a baby and hopefully you won’t need ivf. |
And if you want to use insurance coverage, some plans require you to do a number of IUIs first. So that could be an additional 3-6 months. |
