This. It's everywhere.

Go get a test. I know lots of people who have gotten tested. All negative. How many people do you know who have it?

I’d like to add that I believe in covid and believe in masks and think we should be careful. But I don’t think it’s everywhere and I think we need to take small risks to keep our kids mentally healthy.

PP who said it's everywhere. I know no one who has it right now. My kids are back in school, sports, I go to the gym and let my kids socialize. Their mental health is worth it. But I still think it is everywhere.

This sounds implausible to me. There must be contact tracing for these APS sanctioned school sports!

There isn't. Someone on my kid's team got Covid and I only know because my kid told me. Not basketball.

Yes! No communication from APS. The only way I’ve found out able possible exposure in an APS building is from a co-worker herself. No word from APS, Arlington Co or my Admin.

If you haven’t been contacted then you weren’t considered exposed. It’s as easy as that. They can’t contact you about every time someone get sick. It would be a privacy violation.

Correct. They will only contact you if you are considered a close contact. Simply having a case doesn't mean you were a close contact.

To the PP who said they had possible exposure in the building, how closely do you work with the c0-worker?

Shouldn’t the health department do that?

One would think... but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Of course the health department does that. Don’t make stuff up.

The Fairfax county health department is following their protocols for covid.

We are in Arlington, not Fairfax. And you're not informed.

I literally watched the Arlington County Public health guy say in one of those info sessions a few weeks back that Arlington is in triage mode now, and isn't tracing all cases anymore. Prioritizing congregate settings like nursing homes.

This. It's not an either or proposition, PP is not saying her kids and she do these activities becau they don't think covid is pervasive, it's that they feel the possibility of getting it is worth the risk for their desired activities.

We know 1 in 1000 Americans have had COVID. You literally can't argue that it's not pervasive. No one close to me has gotten it either but that doesn't mean it hasn't been a possibility and will continue to be a greater one the more it spreads.
