| It sounds like you guys are talking about the boys side, when the OP is talking about a club for her DD. Different landscape. |

NPL is miles ahead CCL.
The former is quality. Talented players. CCL has a few scattered teams that can play but there’s no way you can not regard that league as a joke and a scam to parents. Whichever club is getting NPL is on the right track. If I lived anywhere close to a club with NPL teams I’d move my children over there in a heartbeat. |
Which is why clubs are rushing to NPL... oh, no they aren't, they're leaving. |
Looooooool right. Last time I checked NPL’s club base is growing. Where as CCL’s is shrinking. |
Are you talking nationally or locally? Because NPL is bigger nationally, but that doesn't mean much if you're in NOVA. The last shakeup of CCL and NPL locally resulted in SYC joining CCL. I don't recall a single local club making the leap to NPL recently. Sorry, I'm not worried about what's going on in South Carolina. |

On the girls side, CCL1 teams regularly win VYSA state cup championships.
After you factor out the 3 GAL and 4 ECNL teams (which is only 7 teams, really), it's the next level after that. Many of these kids who play in CCL1 still go on to play in college - it's not "elite elite" but still a pretty good level of play. |
Many? Probably not more than 1%. Seriously. This is ridiculous. People need to get their head around how few travel soccer players play collegiate soccer. It is a very small number. And most of those players are coming from leagues other than CCL, EDP, NPL or VPL. |
| By the time the teams are U18/U19, the CCL1 teams have filtered out non-serious players. |
5.6% of HS boy soccer players go on to play in college 7.2% of HS girl soccer players go on to play in college |
Terrible odds considering almost none are getting full scholarships. |
Where’d you get this data? And yes, as a CCL and former NPL coach I agree the former is a farmers league compared to the latté |
|
What does the fact that almost none are getting scholarships have to do with odds? |
| But if you are on here arguing NPL vs CCL GA vs ECNL EDP vs NCSL and your kid is U15+, I would think your kid is college material and these odds don't apply to "us". So please stop throwing out odds. If your kid is older and pretty much has no chance, what are you doing in these arguments other than just trolling. |
It proves the point that for the most part college soccer is the highest level of pay to play. |
