Am loving the Breakfast Club (mean girl Claire) and Christmas Vacation (why is the carpet wet, Todd?) references.

I would have named my daughter Audrey Claire because I love the way they flow, and Claire is a family name. Alas, I'm from Philly, and it's the name of a restaurant there.

Pardon the interruption in ranking!

In order from favorite to least favorite.

Serena: love this--an underused classic
Elise: lovely
Juliana: nice without being crazy popular. I'm a 70s-era Julie but prefer Juliana or Juliet.
Audrey: very popular but I like it
Claire: nice but dull and a little stuffy
Victoria: feels a bit tired and dated
Margot: has a real bohemian vibe for me
Evelyn: way, way overused in this area
Fiona: just don't like this--not sure why

Agree with the PP who suggested Susannah and Nina. Also really like Sylvie.

Anonymous wrote:OP, these are all either beautiful or at the very least, pleasant. Good luck choosing your child’s name. I don’t think you can go wrong. If you need to start weeding out names, the first way to do it is by ranking them on how they flow with what will be her last name.

Agree. Claire and Audrey are my favorite. Good luck!

Julia/Juliana 5/2
Serena 4
Elise 9
Evelyn 8
Audrey 5
Margot 6
Victoria 3

Didn’t realize how much I loved the name Elise until now. It will get confused with Alice a lot, so I’d go with Fiona Evelyn.

The only ones I don't care for are Margot and Fiona (hard to forget the Shrek reference).

I only like currently unpopular names so Victoria and Serena are my favorites.

Margot has always looked like Maggot to me.

I'd do Margaux for this reason. Not OP, though

Margaux is a wine.

Fiona - I can’t articulate it well but I just don’t like this name and never have — I think it is the fi sound that doesn’t work
Claire - fine, but boring and overused
Julia/Juliana - lovely, slight preference for Julia as it is more classic and less frilly
Serena - fine although not my style
Elise - very nice and not overused
Evelyn - currently overused but nice
Audrey - very nice and I have a feeling it will be growing in popularity
Margot - very nice
Victoria - very nice
