People other than Santa exchange gifts on Christmas too, OP. (Mom to Dad, Grandma to kids, etc) Those are the ones that go under the tree before Christmas. Santa leaves unwrapped gifts on Christmas Eve.

Most people wrap Santa gifts FYI

Not true. Our Santa doesn’t wrap.

We do it under the tree. The kids love to watch the pile grow. Santa brings just one gift in our house and it is by the fireplace in the morning.

We've always put the pile out about a week before Christmas (and add to it any last minute gifts) - stockings and "Santa gift" are put out Christmas Eve after bedtime.

This year, we got a covid cat (different gripe for another thread ), who has done nothing but climb the tree so I'm afraid to put out the gifts too early because I think he'll climb through them, scratch at them and open all of my hard work wrapping So they're all waiting.

Everything goes under the tree once wrapped. Only Santas gifts come on Christmas Eve.

I normally put the presents out for adults and in other years, people not in our household. The kids things are kept away until after they go to bed on Christmas Eve. I’m taking a break from wrapping right now. I hate wrapping.

We put gifts from grandparents etc under the tree early. Our gifts go under after the kids go to bed

So there is a gradually accumulating pile starting in early December - helps build the anticipation, I think. Santa presents and stocking stuffers are added Christmas Eve after the kids are in bed.

Us too.

We have never wrapped Santa gifts. Santa sets everything up so it’s ready to play with.

+1 it’s magical to come downstairs and see a dollhouse or whatever out and assembled!

People leave big gifts like dollhouses or bikes unwrapped. Other gifts are usually wrapped, but it depends on family tradition.

I put all gifts, except Santa, under tree as soon as they are wrapped.

We always have(had, not this year) Christmas at Grandmoms house. She has some gifts out a few days before, and my brother typically puts his gifts out before. It gives the kids something to look at. Then we put out the bulk of gifts after the kids are in bed Christmas Eve, so they come down to the sight of all the gifts on Christmas morning.
It’s just my son and me on our own this year, and no gifts from others have made it, so there are just the gifts I have for him. I haven’t put them out. I will do that tomorrow night.

Not wrong at all. That was how my family did things when I was a kid, and I would do the same but my youngest has special needs and would open them all if we did that now, so they go under the tree about middday on Christmas Eve.

We put out presents under the tree as we receive and wrap them. Couldn’t do this when I had toddlers and preschoolers, but I much prefer it this way. Don’t miss this days of waiting until the kids go to sleep to haul out all of the gifts from far flung places in the house.

Do what works for you, OP.

Santa delivers unwrapped gifts and he displays them away from the tree and keeps each DCs gifts separate.

I love to wrap and consider wrapped gifts under the tree part of our fun and festive decor.

Our DC get to each open one small gift Christmas Eve.

Our Santa gifts are wrapped in Santa paper, unless they are something enormous and tedious to assemble like a dollhouse or playkitchen, then those are assembled at 3 am.
