Side or bottom freezer?

Well for me I debated between bottom and side but started thinking of reaching down to get things out and as a woman on the taller side 5’8” and middle aged I thought this is going to get more and more difficult physically. So I chose side. I also chose wall ovens for the height because I imagined trying to pull out a 20lb turkey and throwing my back out every thanksgiving & Christmas. Also front load washer/dryer with raised pedestals. I thought about my golden years a lot with my recent home renovation. But I did hold off on handrails. Haha

i love my bottom freezer, but does anyone else find that the drawer gets especially dirty? it just seems to get dirtier than i remember my side freezer getting, although it’s been a while.

i don’t know if the problem is simply that there’s so much stuff in the big drawer and everything falls to the bottom or maybe it’s that it’s harder to clean bc there’s so much in the big drawer so i don’t clean it as often bc it’s too hard to remove everything.

but i’m just surprised at all the dirt/crumbs/spills at the bottom of the drawer, and there’s just no easy way to clean it.
