Best gear to keep your keeper warm

I'm not sure about GKs since they stand around alot. They have different needs than field players, but field players should be fine with standard soccer socks. My son never needed anything special. Tights from Dick's and then shorts and then if super cold, can wear warm up pants or just skip the tights and wear warm ups pants. Only on the coldest days will you need tights and warmup pants. I suppose GK can wear both routinely. For upper body, cold gear like in the post above for base layer, then a jersey, then a heavier wool/fleece pullover, then add the club warm up jacket over. Plenty war, Then a hat and soccer gloves or ones that Costco sells. This should be all you need to keep the player warm down to like 25 degrees. teams usually don't practice when it's colder than that.

Same. Gloves and hat are key.

In my experience, the kids end up removing some layers during practice. Once they have the right clothes, they don't mind. It's the parents that mind because it's really cold to stand on the sideline for 90 minutes!

I'm sorry to hijak and can start my own thread if that would be better. For non-goalkeepers, what do you do to keep the kid's head warm? My son says he can't do headers in a hat. Is there another option?

He can wear the ear covers that wrap around the head with velcro. Those keep my ears toasty. Everyone makes them.

Most field players are running around enough to stay warm. If they are taking a break they may want to throw on a hat.
