Heroes and M&D

The SW recruiting program is extremely strong with staff and coaches actively involved and having deep connections with many D1 programs. They are also very good at communicating with the players over time to shape a realistic list of targets and specify what players need to do to improve and achieve their recruiting goals. It is a realistic, targeting approach for each player and, as a result, you see a very solid variety of commitments at schools that are good specific fits for each player.

Not true, who is writing above. They have no recruiting director and the kids have to do it on their own.

According to the girl and her parents, they love it. 1 practice per week in Fall. 2 practices per week after HS season/prepping for summer tourneys. Def more intense and a high level of accountability on both fitness and skill work year round. But according to this family (sports family for sure with other children very active, but reasonable people), the commitment has been well worth it. One current case study.

Skywalker’s practices in Baltimore, the other two practice In Howard county (M &D has some practices in western Baltimore county). Skywalkers is about 20 to 30 minutes further away, and a notch down in quality, although still very good. It’s rare for a Skywalkers team to beat a hero’s or m&d team.

My perception is that SkyWalkers are also on a downward trend. Not as bad as MC, but still downward.

Key to remember is that SW is more of a national program. At their highest levels, at least a quarter of the roster is from well out of state (Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, Delaware, Texas) for example. This is one of the reasons they are much better in the summer than the fall.

National is a bit of a stretch, but they do carry out of area players. That said, 22 Blue has 3 outside of the area. 22 White has only one. 23 Blue has 2. 23 white has zero...

Thank you, mom of a SW player. Capital girls have been on their own for the last 3 recruiting cycles. Current recruiting director has 0 qualifications and puts in less effort. Compare to recent addition to strong Pride organization and decide who you will trust your kids future to.
