Just like when I was a kid someone has to sit in the middle.

Everyone is just fine.

Hopefully our planet will survey everyone driving gas guzzling SUVs so there kids don't have to be uncomfortable - I guarantee you an uninhabitable planet is going to be a lot less comfortable for a lot more people.

If you really can't fathom your kids being uncomfortable at least get a mini-van and prove this isn't about vanity and status signalling.

Wow - assume much? Perhaps they are planning to carpool and take one two other cars out of the equation at rush hour? Perhaps they drive grandparents with them? You just don’t know. I have 2 3 row suvs (gasp) but both are electric and I put solar panels on my house to charge them.

It so happens I have a solar system and an EV and you would have to have a massive solar system to actually power your house and 2 large SUVs - if you even have a solar system I doubt it is coming close to providing enough power for your profligate consumerism.

And count me skeptical these 3rd row cars are being used for carpooling or driving grandparents around (and on the same day in your case!)- studies have been done on this and something like 98% of the miles driven in the US are people driving alone to work. But you are ready to drive the entire lacrosse team around and all your in-laws on the same day and have 2 3 row SUVs!

So yeah gasp selfish people like you are killing the planet even if you have a solar panels (quick share yesterdays KwH production) and again if you need a car with 3 rows get a more efficient Minivan. Oh but that wouldn't be as cool or signal your status to everyone else.

What is this efficient minivan drivel? Honda Odyssey and pilot get basically the same mileage and the Highlander gets modestly better mileage than the sienna. Check your facts before virtue signaling next time.

^^^agree with the above. Now Odyssey vs. Suburban would get way different gas mileage.

Not every SUV family is ruining the environment. Ours is 3 years old and has 3k miles on it (3k, not 30k). Might have been 4k if not for covid, but still. We had a van before that, but the Odyssey first row seats felt very very uncomfortable.

When you turn on your blinker, it shows a camera's view of the side of your car in the driver's instrument panel. The lane keeping assist is really cool - I can take my hands off the wheel and the car will still steer around corners. The hands free liftgate works by just standing near the back with the key in your pocket. The third row has 3 seat belts and an adult fits back there. Styling is better than a Pilot and it's bigger than the Highlander, without paying for a luxury badge.

Agree. Do the research. Read what the experts are saying. The Palisade and Kia Telluride are blowing away the competition on several levels: from luxury amenities to tech features, price and warranty.

Hyndai wanted us to pay a $500 deposit on a site unseen Palisade. No thanks. The only one they had for us to test drive was the base model with no features. I’m not buying a car sight unseen/driven.

Interesting. I searched inventory online, found the one with the options I wanted and went to that dealer for the test drive. I called ahead so they would have it ready and minimize waiting. Some dealers didn't want to play ball with pricing, but there were others who were willing to discount. Maybe because the 2021 is relatively new? If it's not a rush, I would wait till spring to buy. I did have a hard time finding Tellurides to drive/buy.

Are they reasonably powered? I’ve had a hyundai and driven my moms Kia and their acceleration always sucked

I love my Kia Telluride. It’s packed with luxury features and drives like a much more expensive car.

OMG what an idiot. The worst thing you can do for the planet is to have children in a wealthy country. Guaranteed, your third kid put you way above average in terms of environmental damage than a family with just one kid and an SUV.

We have a Honda Pilot with two rows of seats and works well for carpools, and we have a Honda Odyssey as well.

We hated it when we rented a SUV that had captain's chairs in the middle since we couldn't put all 3 kids in the middle row, and left us with very limited storage for suitcases.
