My dad's arms have those large purple spots all over. It's from being old and on blood thinners. My mom's are almost as bad, not from blood thinners but because she always bruised easily and now that she's almost 75 if you just touch her arm with any pressure whatsoever it becomes a nasty purple bruise.

+1. We all know old people who bruise easily due to medication. I've never seen one whose entire hand is a bruise.
