My "Brilliant" Teen...stories (for fun)

My kid’s clothes never seemed clean after he did the laundry. Turned out he systematically put the detergent in the fabric softener dispenser, so he was rinsing his clothes and then adding soap as a finishing touch.

My kid was supposed to write a critique of something, and the instructions said "No cursory responses will be accepted." He wanted to know how you could critique something without saying anything negative.

Oh my god my husband did this when we were in graduate school! Did start a fire. I guess I’m the dummy for marrying him anyway. (He handled it with grace- throwing it flaming into the snowy yard)

I put a cookie on a paper towel and microwaved it (this was also in college). Started a fire, one of my roommates used the fire extinguisher on it! One time I’ve ever seen a fire extinguisher used.

I have put out 3 kitchen fires in my life. First was when I was 14 and my dad set the toaster on fire. The second two were in college when roommates started grease fires on the stove. For the last one I walked into the kitchen to find 3 foot flames coming out of one of my pans. Threw the lid of a cookie tin over the top to put it out and roommate got mad at me for ruining her cookie tin...

As a teen, I was babysitting and after the kids went to bed felt cold. I realized the AC was on too much so figured I should turn it down. But I just got colder so turned it down some more. I think the house was freezing by the time the parents got home.
