Financial Aid Report by SSS

One of my objectives was to choose a private school environment without the pressure cooker atmosphere and ambitious, snobby parents. I hope I've chosen well. But the tone on this board is really unbelievable -- nasty, entitled posters (many of whom profess high flying degrees but can't spell!) that I would not want to come into contact with on a daily basis.

PP: Are you the author of this remark? If so, perhaps your insular entitlement upper class status excuses this as typographical but for the masses you point your finger at...the ones who profess high flying degrees ... they can't spell!

I'm sure you are blind to your hypocrisy. Go cry to your boss.

know this board is a microcosm and not representative of all private school parents. However, I wish I had never found it but now it's like a traffic accident -- I can't look away.

We are a middle income family with one child in a public program and the other who just seems to need something different. I identified a couple of privates that I thought would work well for DC and applied. We are hoping to get some FA -- not a full ride but some assistance so that we can send her.

And it's not CD Urban Moms in general -- the other boards have mostly helpful and kind posters. but this -- it really shows an awful about our culture and society.

Lately I've been thinking that the US is in danger of becoming like Argentina or other S. American countries, with an insular, entitled upper class and millions of poor people without a real hope to better their circumstances -- and nothing in between. This is more evidence that I'm not far off base.

How can anyone take this poster seriously.

Talk about being mean...

then accosting other posters becaused they can't spell...

then proceeds to demonstrate that she can't spell either.

...she part of the insular upper middle class entitlement camp with foot in mouth disease.

Where's the spelling mistake in the blue highlighted area? I don't see it.

No, this board does not represent private school moms. We've been sending our children to private school for many years and I've never met anyone who was unpleasant. I'm sure the parents are very similar to a suburban school in an expensive neighborhood. In the older grades, there is some academic pressure for the kids and some of the parents are ambitious, but mostly they are friendly and there is comraderie. As you can imagine, there is a fair amount of money, which you just have to deal with and know that you are giving your child an excellent eduation.

Credible and believable. One of my 2 children attends a public school and I, too, have never met anyone who was unpleasant.
