+1 Where do you think all the flood cars at auction come from? You guessed it, North Carolina. |
It does, and I get it, but you would never be able to give me, for free, any house on a barrier island. Any other beach is fine, as far as I am concerned. See above re: barrier islands. |
Houses are designed for this. They sit on pilings to stay several feet above the typical floodwater level. The water comes up, property gets covered for a day or so, water goes back down, life goes on, no issues and no damage. Have you literally NOT been to a beach before? I’m perplexed by your incredibly stupid question. |
Maybe in Malibu or NH or Maine. But from NJ all the way to TX, there’s a noticeable shortage of mountains that extend all the way to the beach! Have you examined a map? |
If the oceans were REALLY going to rise that much, that quickly, the Obama’s wouldn’t have spent $15,000,000 on a house in Martha’s Vinyard that’s 9 feet above sea level. Are you accusing Obama of being stupid? Because that’s pretty racist. |
| Late to the discussion... but cinder blocks would work well. buy a bunch. at $1.50 each more or less, it is a bargain. Jack up the car and slide them under. You could pile them up 2-4 rows up. Hold them together with ratchet straps and plywood if you think you will get wave action. |
