Compulsions. Quite a few of them.
Must brush and floss his teeth after every meal, within minutes. God help you if you are in the bathroom when he wants to brush. His anxiety is palpable. When returning from a trip and entering our home, he literally RUNS with his suitcase into the bedroom to begin unpacking it. He even does this when we're both jet-lagged and tired. He's got to unpack that bag first! If he uses the kitchen dishcloth, he is absolutely compelled to make sure it is wet and then roll it up in a tight ball and leave it on the sink to molder. |
"I did not want my tombstone to read, 'She kept a really clean house.'" ... Ann Richards, 45th Governor of Texas. You may want to remind your husband that women are capable of a lot more important things than keeping a house clean. Especially for your daughter's sake. He's already teaching her that her "fashion" choices are important - what's he teaching her about her true worth? You have bigger problems with your DH than annoying traits, I'm afraid. |
YUP. A real FT convo with my MIL that happened within the last couple months. |
My husband has hearing problems so he has all calls on speaker phone and watching youtube videos on full blast.
He says huh as in repeat everything I say to him. I bought a white board and solved that. |
I Fing HATE her smoking. And she makes no effort to quit and gets all pissy and defensive when I talk to her about it. |
PP here. The issue with him is cleanliness. It’s not that women should only be caretakers, clean the house, and look good. I run businesses and he supports me in that. Our daughter watches that. He has an obsession with cleanliness. I’ll admit, he does laundry and his fair share of cleaning around the house. It’s just he gets so ruffled when it’s not 100% spotless. The issue with DDs skirt is that he thinks it’s unclean to wear things back to back, even if it’s technically washed. Idc if we call it an annoying trait or a mental disorder like OCD, it annoys tf out of me. |
