Club Volleyball in the “everyone else” category is exciting. We got lucky and found the level just right for my dd. Tons of development- professional coaches- big life lessons about teamwork- intense competition and physical training. In short, my upper middle of the pack dd is having an amazing experience being a competitive athlete.
This year we have seen this all over the top 25 teams ranked in CHRVA. High points to VAVA/ Vienna Elite/ American/ at James. Check out their team schedules. Pick based on how much play your kid will get. Some of these clubs play everything. Guaranteed exciting season and enduring life lessons.
Tournaments are bracketed to ensure a competitive experience no matter where one is in the pecking order. Will my girl play college ball? Some days I wish it because she loves it so much, but is it worth the extra pressure that the top bracket requires? It was hard admitting that this early- especially being in NOVA where achievement is the currency.
There’s a saying that cream always rises. I still hope maybe it becomes more evident that she’ll clearly be a starter for a top team. From what I’ve seen so far with benched kids and pissed parents, the $10k spent on this per kid doesn’t seem worth it.
