We're fans of WaterWipes--and as others have said, only wipe for changing poopy diapers and quick rinse in the bathtub if it's a tough-to-wipe one! Triple cream has also worked well for us. For a rash, a nice soak once a day in warm water (with oatmeal or another skin soother) can help make it feel a little better.
Also--it's really important to make sure the skin is completely dry before you put on any type of barrier cream (like Desitin or Aquaphor). If there is an active rash, you might want to wipe and then use a dry cloth to pat it dry (or wait a minute or two and air dry) before you put on cream. Otherwise, you trap moisture on the skin, which contributes to more rash and possible infection. A nasty cycle! |
| Wait why are you talking about using a washcloth 10 times a day? You only wipe poop diapers, not pee. |

1) Wash baby's bum with warm water; add some hand soap if you'd like and PAT try (don't rub)
2) Give baby a few minutes of "naked bum time" on the changing table or on a towel on the floor as often as possible after said wash 3) Use aquaphor LIBERALLY when a diaper is on 4) For poop diapers, we used water wipes and bought them at Target (since some of the Amazon ones had mixed reviews due to suspected counterfeit items) 5) Baths are good, but do not scrub the area 6) Usually there's a solid cause like stomach acid changes due to teething, antibiotics, or a food allergy. Also, factors that increase BMs can cause diaper rash (e.g. added fruit in diet, increased eating due to growth spurt, etc.) Good luck OP! |
