We bring our portable potty. If the restrooms are available, we use that. |
We are moving. We seriously can’t take it anymore. Our townhome felt expansive when we could go to the park every day. Now we are crabby. DH spoke with work about going remote permanently, we have a realtor, and the ball is rolling. If I am going to be stuck at home indefinitely, I need a bigger yard. |
We were very rarely home before all this. We have little rituals- walks at 12 and 6, yoga a few times a week, reading on the deck. Daughter has a 5:00 conference call with friends most days. We do themed movie nights or game/puzzle nights. |
We still go out but don’t meet others.
My older kids have been playing sports and fishing. We go on bike rides, hikes and walks. We get take out so at least leave the house. It is not the same because we are a social family. I have recently started going to target and went to the mall the other day without kids. It was so nice to walk around. Stores weren’t crowded and I felt safe. I wore a mask and gloves to target. At the mall, it was easy to social distance. |
We were always out and about, too. We have now substituted the zoo and museum type outing with hikes, berry picking, flying kites in fields. Cooking new things. Gardening, when it was cooler. Bikes, scooters, outdoor games.
I don’t miss driving to all the extracurricular activities. All of our stuff is online and that’s a part that I almost wish would continue. But it is a bit intense to stay so isolated and not be able to go out for a meal or get a change of scenery. |
