For those with students returning to campus, how many classes are in person?

GMU off-campus senior.

15 credits. Only one (language) class in person.

This is the college forum.

...huh?

Troll post. No one takes 6 classes in a semester.

Five 3-credit classes and a 1 credit “first year experience” type class. 16 credits is a pretty normal course load. Glad you know better, though!

My freshman was put in 4 courses first semester. Jesuit schools usually put students in 5-6 classes (which I think is terrible).

It is not unusual at my child’s college for her major (and from every other major I scrolled thru at her school). Six classes is the recommend sequence for her major for first semester freshmen. Again, glad you know better!

So 5 real classes. You think your kid is so tough and cool for taking a 1-credit class.

DS will be a senior and 4 out of 5 in person.
DD will be a sophomore and 4 out of 5 online....

Originally told it would be a hybrid....but just saw finalized course schedule for DD who will be a freshman at UMW....

3 courses will be online
1 course (a first year seminar course) will be the only in person class

...plus 2 online courses DD is taking through local CC (courses not offered at UMW)

The 1 in-person class is T/TH -- as we are in NOVA, we are wondering....why bother paying room & board? Just drive down T.Th for the 1 in-person class.

DD still wants to be on campus in the dorms...but with 90% online classes we are wondering if it will be a ghost town anyways.

I’m teaching some hybrid classes. They’ve advertised as 50/50 but that is impossible due to size and also poses issues with the way I teach which requires consistency. At most students will be in the classroom once every 2-3 weeks. If students have asked I tell them to expect primarily online and indicate the days that may be in person. I will announce to all and send surveys in about two weeks.

3 online
2 in person + lab for one of the online classes

Living in dorms in 3 weeks. He will be fine, and is super excited.
