This is totally different than youth soccer.

Take out the locker rooms and your description sounds a lot like a typical DA or ECNL team.

I think travel and tournaments should be restricted in the Fall. It would help if the clubs got together and came up with a voluntary set of guidelines and restrictions. Right now it seems like some clubs and teams are holding out hope for certain types of events like Jefferson Cup. We could end up with a blanket restriction that could have been avoided by taking proactive steps and negotiation.

Again, it is all about liability. And the poster that talked about suing the county, etc. is wrong. Fields are open regardless. It is the club and league holding the event that people will (wrongly) try to blame. The only people to blame are the parents and kids that take the risk. This is different than college where kid’s scholarships would be on the line if the school played but kid sat out. It is always about the lawyers and politics, not safety. Always. Also the poster that said colleges’ focus is education made me giggle. How naive. It’s about endowments, research, prestige, and an easy cushy job in a pretty setting. Education. That’s just what’s being sold.

How many colleges do you believe are really rolling in endowments?

It’s not about lawyers or politics, it’s about safety. Colleges and universities are about education. You seem unhinged.

You seem naive. But, be polyannish. Maybe I am a bit jaded, but I have worked at universities before and work at executive levels quite a bit. It opens your eyes and does jade one.
