Has your kid's physician said anything about possible long-term side effects of ADHD meds?

OP, asking these questions online in a forum like this is a slippery slope. There are "never medicate" people out there and then there are those who say "always medicate". Everyone's situation and child is different so what may be right for one child is not for another. In my case, my DS would have been constantly disciplined (very impulsive) labeled the class clown, and had a very tough time academically. Yes, his executive functioning still is fairly weak, but he landed at a great college and gets some disability support in the way of extended test time and testing in a reduced distraction environment. Without the meds, I know his outcome from K-12 would have been very different.
