removing images of Jesus as white - can we have a respecful discussion?

Jesus was a Jew. So he was caucasian, probably with dark hair and dark eyes.

Yes, Christianity does not have the same restrictions. It’s one reason why some critics of Christianity call it idol-worship.

I'm sure being charismatic is kind of part of the job description of being prophet and they were wise and kind which always adds grace and is attractive.

This really occupies your mind? As a small child I figured out pictures of Jesus were “ made in our image” to comfort people. You really spend time thinking about this?

In Orthodox church, he is pretty dark. But, we are all basically heathens to Catholics and protestants who, due to the gift of Christianity, determined that they are a superior race and being to anyone else! Catholicism=my way or the highway.

i think Michael Aloni is pretty attractive, he's a pretty successful actor. .He's also a very typical sort of jewish phenotype, i personally think thats what jesus probably looked like. I think All prophets are supposed to be hot, they aren't supposed to be ugly or even average- its easier to persuade people if you are attractive.

the Holy Prophet Muhammad saw is described as being medium height with a wheatish complexion and his father was famous for being very good looking. I'm pretty sure he was attractive as well. I just think that Prophets are supposed to be charismatic so they are probably pretty good looking? The Lord Krishna was so dark that his skin looked blue- also supposed to be incredibly attractive. And yes Krishan and the Buddha and Socrates were probably also non Judaic messengers of God. In the Quran it says that some messengers we have told you about and some we have not but we have sent messengers to all the peoples of the world. Ive read that Gautam Buddh was also famous for being a beautiful man as a young prince. The orthodox depictions of Jesus are different than the blonde blue eyed western christian one but are still very beautiful. Especially the eyes and thick curly hair, very good bone structure- only the baby jesus is questionable really he doesn't get cute until the later renaissance.

I actually wonder why they never show him with those since it would've been strange for him not to have those- it was part of semitic culture to keep the forelocks. In orthodox depictions he's olive skinned with dark curly hair and limpid black eyes- those would have been the mosaics that Muhammad (saw) saw when he stayed with the carmelite monks outside of damascus so i find it interesting that that isn't how Christ is described in the Holy Quran. Arabs would've been familiar with the orthodox depictions, some of them actually show him as a black man and we know Muslims went to abyssinia and were exposed to those images, so i just taught it was interesting that the description is different than what arabs hearing the Quran for the first time would've found familiar.
