Private SIL

I'm a private person with people I'm not super close to. So people end up talking a lot about themselves and I ask follow up questions. Im not being nosy. Most of the time I don't really care about every little detail of your vacation. But you talking about your vacation means that I don't have to be worried about you asking me personal questions.

This doesn't make any sense. I don't talk or share. If you don't care, why do you ask questions?

NP and I agree with this and give OP the benefit of the doubt here. If SIL brought up OP’s miscarriage issues and then didn’t allude to any of her own (even vaguely), then SIL sucks. If SIL doesn’t believe fertility is a topic she wants to discuss with OP, then she shouldn’t bring up OP’s issues. SIL made OP vulnerable and held her cards very close to the chest. Not cool!
