If you had to take a 2 hr domestic flight in 2 weeks...

Interesting article on 2 layers vs. 1 for masks (and relative effectiveness in general):
https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/best-materials-make-diy-face-mask-virus/

If you're using dish towel material, 2 layers is quite a bit better than 1. If you're using t-shirt material, there's not much difference at all.

You realize tens of thousands of people are still flying right?

The fear is insane I don't blame you I blame the MSM for blowing this out of proportion

As others have said flying is safer than going to WalMart/Grocery Store

If you are a healthy adult with 1 or less chronic conditions the hospitalization and/or death rate is extremely small even if you do get Covid

No way I’d fly yet.

I would drive.

I do realize that people are still flying. You are wrong to suggest that the numbers are high. Air travel is down by 95%.

I would be very interested in seeing some data on air travel being safer that the grocery store. Do you mean per trip or per minute? I don't buy it.

I'm uninterested in getting this virus whether I am hospitalized or not. It is a brutal, brutal illness for many people who aren't hospitalized.

As long as you’re not old and/or a fattie, flying is just fine.

I drive to Orlando from the DC area a few times a year, by myself, and I'm a single woman in my 60s. I'm not doing it now, but if I needed to I would:

-Bring my own food in a cooler so I didn't need to stop at restaurants

-Get a lot of sleep before I went and plan to drive straight through, no hotels

-If I got really sleepy I would (and have) find a place like a truck stop and park in a well lit place and take a nap with my doors locked. It's a good time of year for this since you won't need heat or AC to be on.

-Listen to music, podcasts and audio books

-Take Clorox wipes into public restrooms and wear gloves and mask in there, wipe down everything I will touch, wash and/or Purell hands before getting back in my car

It's doable, although might be more of a struggle if you had to bring kids with you. I hate to fly though so a solitary drive is the better option for me.

masks don't protect you. They protect people around you from you.

How long is your drive

Usually about 14 hrs but that includes at least one stop for a sit down meal, without that probably around 13 depending on how long a nap I might need.

^^Also I have done the drive a number of times when I didn't really need a nap at all.

Down by 95% is correct. That means 100K still flying daily (as of April 20)

The TSA screened more than 2 million people per day in April of last year. Now, it screens about 100,000 daily.

This. They better allow hand sanitizer on. 2 ounces isn’t enough if you are using it right.

I wouldn't do anything special. Don't live in fear.
