Apparently he was close enough to her mother to pay for Emma's schooling in the best private schools in the UK AND walk Emma down the aisle. Her mom now lives on the estate with Emma and her husband as well.

Sexual fidelity or straightforwardness has never been popular with British aristocracy so she should fit right in. I mean books could be written (and have been!) about weird, promiscuous and downright cruel behavior of spouses to each other in these circles. Starting with the groom's father!
