50F here, bought peloton a year ago and have noticed real definition in my quads lately. Love it. |
Yes it does. |
Food makes your legs bulky. |
Read an article yesterday in NYT with Kate Winslet who said they put her on the Peleton to bulk her legs up for Mare of Easttown. |
Bulky? Do you mean muscular? It’s ok to have muscles. It protects you as you age and muscles burn more calories. |
Did it work? |
Yes |
I feel like this depends on your starting weight. If you have very skinny legs then yes spinning will bulk you up because it will add muscle. If you have thick legs it will likely make them look better because it will add muscle. If you are overweight, it will slim your legs because you will lose fat and add muscle.
But in almost all situations, it will improve the strength and definition in your legs. |
NP. Yes to all of this. |
Lower resistance high cadence will not. It will make you hungrier so watch what you eat. Also tends to make you retain fluid in your large muscles which plumps them up temporarily. |
+1 I’d rather be able to get lucky in tech. I build muscle easily. And I do not like it. |
I got a Peloton in January and was worried about this too. I have been doing 3-4 rides per week since then, with barre, yoga, or Pilates on the other days. My legs have slimmed down considerably, but look much more toned. |
I just read it because you made me curious. That isn't what she said. She said she used peloton to make her thighs more muscular. |
Depends on your build. If you are slim then yes it will. It made my thighs bigger but didn’t do the same for my butt. Not a good look. If both had been made bigger it would be okay. Running gives me more balanced glutes and thighs. |
