Anyone else worried about having to arrange a funeral/burial during the Covid-19 pandemic?

I thought this was helpful.

My brother died this week (in NY). His wish was to be cremated. His siblings are older and spread all over the country.

Our plan now is to come together in the Fall. The unfortunate part is that we cannot offer his widow comfort in person right now.

I am sorry for your loss. Was it Covid? You said "his siblings..." Is this a half or stepbrother?

No, I misspoke. Should have said our siblings I guess...but it includes me.

Symptoms suggest covid, but test results are not back yet

My dad could pass soon. It actually might be easier to plan a funeral now since he was estranged from many families and his friends are older. This way, people have the perfect excuse to not travel. They can decline and we both save face.

My elderly cousin died on Tuesday. His immediate family zoomed the graveside burial and shiva minyan. It was hard to not all be together but we did stay on and talk after the minyan prayers were over. That was helpful. But it is a terrible time to bury a loved one.

I am sorry for your loss. Do not come together in the fall. it will be picking up again and you are risking killing off loved ones.

I'm so sorry for those who have faced or are facing losses during this time. While thankfully we don't yet know anyone who has died from CV, at least two friends have had relatives pass from other illnesses since lockdown began. In both cases they are holding off on funerals or celebrations of life until this is all over.

Oh, for pity’s sake.

So they are waiting 18 months until there is a vaccine? This isn't going to be over until then.
