Anyone’s kid still practicing their instrument?

My 10 year old practices for about an hour daily. But, she’s really committed and enjoys playing, so it isn’t really a chore for her, and I don’t have to nag.

Most night after dinner, our 10 year practices her flute.
Her band teacher had emailed the band to say how disappointed she was that school was closed but how proud she was of how far they had come. I wrote the band teacher back to say thank you and that DD was still practicing and was looking forward to next year. I mentioned DD was attempting some popular music from a YouTube video and she emailed me the sheet music.
So some nights DD does school music and some nights she attempts the popular music. We don’t care as long as she does something.

DS is a young and a beginner so it’s only 15 minutes a day but I am making him do it every day. He doesn’t have a lot to do so I need activities for him to do before he can use Xbox. He doesn’t like it but it isn’t a big deal. I think if he had to do it for more than 15 minutes it would be too much of a struggle and not worth it.

My five year old has to be brown beaten to practice his violin but he will do an hour a day uninterrupted on the piano. Go figure 🤷🏾‍♀️
