Give it to me straight - how much tv are your kids watching?

Anonymous
None, but she never has, so it's... easy not to, I guess?

Kid is 7. DH and I both WFH full-time now.

omg I WISH my toddlers would watch some TV! We've tried everything and only get about 15 min out of Frozen 2 or Toy Story. Then they wander off to scream at us during our teleconferences.

Zero. We don’t have a working TV.

Another vote for "all the tv"

My kids are 9 and 3.

We don't even keep track at this point, and are really in survival mode.

Lots of respect to you parents who have this shit figured out.

SAHM with a 3 year old and 6 month old. 3 year old typically watches 1.5 hours in the morning and an hour or so in the late afternoon/evening. Sometimes a bit more and sometimes (rarely) none at all. She doesn’t always stay in front of the tv when it’s on either so I don’t know what to count that time.

Even before quarantine we had the routine of DH starting work from home as soon as our 3 year old wakes and plopping her in front of the tv with some Cheerios so I can get a little extra sleep, feed and change the baby and get myself some food before “starting” our day. It’s helped tremendously through the newborn/early infancy stage.

I’m a stay at home mom and letting them use screens about four hours a day as long as they get some tasks done before that and it’s HARD. They just won’t leave me alone at all. If I was working they would be on screens eight-nine hours a day, no question.

All day, everyday. Don’t care!

Mine is 3, we are both working from home. We are holding off until after nap/quiet time and then she is getting like 2 hours of TV. More than we would normally allow, but these are stressful times.

I have a 2 and 5 year old and we’ve watched frozen 2 more times than I can count. We need to work, and they’re too young for schoolwork. The tv is always on pretty much, even if they’re not always watching it

Very little. They are attached permanently to their ipads instead

More than I’d like and less than they’d like so a stalemate. Our weather has been miserable lately so we have been completely locked in. We can only do arts and crafts and bake cookies for so long and my kids are only 6, 4 and 2 so there isn’t much on line school work except some for the 6 year old.

I only let them watch CNN which means they nap all the time. Don’t I wish! Seriously, the tv is often on in the background while they are doing other things like torturing their mother.

probably close to 2 hours a day. Ugh.

As in TV shows and movies? None. DS is in a Catholic school and we all agreed to give up TV for lent. And then this hit and school and daycare were canceled and DH and I had to work from home.

Yeah, “looks like I picked the wrong time to quit sniffing glue”!!

DS does some school work on his iPad and conferences with his teacher every day. Plus long face time play and reading with grandparents.
