Claiming things are nothing more than money grabs because they aren’t free is being stupid.

How did OP know it was required and not a money grab?

They didn’t (Uninformed).

They didn’t which is why it is important to not label things so lazily until the facts are known. The OP was ignorant and said a stupid thing based on tired and lazy tropes that get tossed around here all the time.

You seem to be overreacting to a simple question from OP that you could have easily ignored. I do agree that there are a lot of cynical and less thoughtful posters who use the “money grab” phrase too glibly on this forum, but I’d bet that none of them has a kid who plays at a level where an athletic scholarship for soccer is likely to be an option.

I’m not overreacting at all. I, as well as others, simply said that the comment was stupid. The defense of the post is the overreaction. The only other issue is people CONSTANTLY shouting “money grab” over every thing related to youth soccer.

Youth soccer isn’t free. Starbucks isn’t free. Healthcare isn’t free. Most things in life are not free.

OMG! No one shouted moneygrab. A question was asked. Answering it is helpful. All your extra commentary and insults are not.

Quote from the OP:
"Seems like a huge money grab to me"

Yep, that was the question. Is it legit or is this a money grab? Fair question. Move TF on.

It was a statement. Did you see a question mark?

And a simple look into NCAA Eligibility center on ones own would have revealed the answer. It was a stupid statement, a stupid question at worst and lazy outsourcing at best.

You might as well complain about the money grab of the College Board while you're at it but good luck getting by without paying the price.

You got your answer to a stupid question now move on.

Next time try the Google machine first.

It's an implied question. Seems like. In other words, is it? And yes, College Board is another racket. You have to do it, but it is. Although, to their credit, least they are designing tests, researching questions and something other than just compiling a database.
