I thought that you were going to say that she thanked you for taking him out to the restaurant. That is was nice to see kids out and about. That is SO RUDE! I once had an older woman thank me for bringing my kids to mass when they were having a particularly difficult day. She said hat she knew how hard it could be, and she thought I was a wonderful mother. Since then, I have tried to say something similar when I see new people at mass with their kids. It’s hard! |
This is helpful clarification op, I see more what you mean now. Yes I think I do give the benefit of the doubt more. I always had empathy but it’s easier to judge a little in the back of your head if a child is having a hard time before you have your own. I think also once you’re a parent you’re more comfortable being helpful because you have a better sense of what might actually be helpful. |
