I'm a waitress! I don't make bank anyhow, so what difference does it make if I take some time off. They are very glad when I do come back since they have hard time finding workers! I have no idea how I have survived in DC for over 20 years on this income.

I work part time. Why are you so money hungry?

IDK... Kids have to eat. Pay the mortgage and other bills. Day care cost... And someday kids have to go to college and I'd like to retire.

I love my job. I like it here better than home. I have always worked. My first full time job was when I was 18 at a bank.

Next year I turn 58 and will have been working 40 years. I count college as I worked all during college, and I worked all during grad school.

I usually lose a few vacation days each year and at one point went 20 years without a sick day and pretty much never late to work.

I am not looking forward to retirement. I have a SAH wife and three kids. I actually have a short commute. So even though I work 8-630pm every day I see them all the time. I get kids up in morning, drive one daughter to bus stop and talk with her in car before headed to work, eat dinner every night with them. Drive them all over, do college tours on weekends etc.

My wife does not want me in her way as she is busy during day on weekdays, younger kids have school and home work up to dinner time and oldest is away at college.

By Sunday night after running like crazy it feels great to know Monday I can get back to work
