Yup. At that age, count 1/2 a huge pizza per child. That means 6.5/7 pizzas. 8 or extras on the side to be safe since they will have been running around for an hour.

If you get 4 pizzas and a bag of chips, you are a poor host. You will have guests who will not have had enough to eat and will go home hungry and need to eat more.

If you can't afford it, you should invite fewer people. If you can afford it but don't want them to eat that much, you are a rude and judgmental host. Teen/tween boys that age need a lot more calories than 40 year old women do and will burn them off a lot faster than you do. So, be a good host and get at least 7 pizzas, but I would recommend 8.

Thanks for chips suggestion. I bought a huge bag and will put some out.

4 pizzas and one bag of chips for thirteen 13-year olds?!

OP you need 6-7 pizzas, and 4-5 bags of chips.

Definitely count on half a pizza per kid. My kid would be the one to only eat two pieces but he takes ADHD meds so he has very little appetite.

If it’s the food court pizza 4 is plenty. Nobody is going to eat half of one of those huge pizzas.

OP—we ordered 4 and had 2 entire pizzas leftover. Boys were sweaty and hyped up.l and socializing and super loud. Not much interest in eating pizza between 6-8 pm. So glad we didn’t buy more.

My athletic adhd child would never eat half a pizza. Are you kidding?

Neither would mine but his friends easily eat half of a pizza. It’s 3-4 pieces. That’s like a snack for them. They come back a few hours later for more food.

A large pizza from say Dominos - which a teen boy would easily eat half of with no problem - and one of the Costco eatery pizzas are VERY different. The latter is much bigger, thicker crust, etc. They’re extremely filling.

Me too! Seriously. Those kids are hungry. Especially at 6pm

I don’t think kids eat as much as a party though vs at home. Even if they’re typically big eaters.

.

My athletic adhd son can ravish a pizza. Not sure what adhd has to do with it unless you are referring to meds and appetite suppressant, which would not be a factor at a 6pm weekend party. Glad it worked out OP although I’ve never seen anything like that with boys that age. They eat. So. Much. I’m enjoying your other thread on the gifts now.
