Cleaning people’s homes every day is back-breaking work. It is physically taxing and that should be taken into account. |
| I have $15/hr for 5 hrs once a week. |
|
How are the hours spread? If 2 hrs/day x5 days, that's additional travel time. I'd do 18-20/hr depending on that.
Not the same but we pay a driver 25/hr because it's one hour a day. |
No, it’s not backbreaking work! If you clean every day it’s much easier to have a routine and avoid buildup of big messes. Not to mention millions of us ckean our own homes. It’s not like she’s being hired to mine coal. |
You sound really dumb, as well as the pp quoting $12/hr- if that's you, you suck too. |
Market rates for professional housekeepers are $5-$8 more per hour than professional nannies. This is not a new thing. - professional nanny |
That is only $80 per day We paid ours $100 for a 4 hour job |
| $200/week for 10 hours, if she comes twice a week. If you make her come daily, up the hourly rate. She loses potential income traveling back and forth. |
What does she do for hours- just changing our household sheets (2-3 rooms) and cleaning the 2 and 1/2 bathrooms take that long, never mind the kitchen and vacuuming that needs to be done. |
| $25/hr is the average going rate in this area. |
This is correct. I’m shocked by how many posters here don’t know this. We have a part-time housekeeper. We pay her (after many years of raises) almost $30 per hour. We pay her taxes, too, and pay her whether she works or not. |
| I’m shocked that anyone pays their housekeeper (who also cooks?) $12-15 an hour. That is insane-it’s hard work. I would be worried about consuming what she’s making you. |
If people cleaned their own houses, they wouldn’t hire housekeepers. You are completely illogical. Continue to exploit the poor desperate woman you found but don’t be surprised to find her scrubbing your toilet with your toothbrush. |
How many hours does she work foe the $180? How will you arrange the 10 hours.... maybe 5 hours 2x/week? |
