I'm the PP. That's true. I should have been more clear. Sometimes our MS even lets the kids go out and run around in the parking lot after lunch if they can. The kids definitely need some time for that. AND, they try to get OUTSIDE most days for PE in MS. Which I love! We didn't have enough staff at our ES to take the kids outside for PE, and it's too chaotic. Our ES combines two classrooms into one PE class. |

Also, please explain how "having PE more than 1x a week" would reduce the achievement gap?

LOL Ain't that the truth. MCPS cares about one thing and one thing only. Closing the achievement gap. If someone can present a study to the BOE about how additional recess time leads to an increase in scores for AA and Latino students, then maybe they'd get on board. |
