| My child just started K at Oyster (we rent IB for now). He had no Spanish previously so it's been a bit of a struggle considering that he is a bright and fast learner who tends to get frustrated if he doesn't pick up new things quickly. That being said, I fully expected this and have been pleasantly surprised by how much he has learned in less than two months despite the challenges. I'm also very happy with the teachers, administration and the parent community so far. As others have said, it depends on what your priorities are, how important bilingual/Spanish proficiency is to you, whether you can make a long-term commitment to it (otherwise there's no point) and whether you're prepared to put in extra effort if/when need be. |
