Private & Independent Schools

Ladies,
I want you to know that I am a recent graduate of St. Albans. I would also like you to know that where I chose to go to college is neither your business nor your prerogative. The approach you are taking your child's education is to treat it as a means to an end. That is effectively the definition of terrible parenting. I sincerely hope your children run away and join the circus, because 18 years in your households would most likely lead to mass suicide. |
| Why so bitter? Would you rather we evaluate a school based on how nice a human being they turn out? And what is the test for that? |
|
Hah!
I would hope that we all want to help our kids get into "the school of their choice", rather than simply an Ivy, although I'm not sure that's universally true here. Unfortunately, even many of the non-Ivy and art/design schools are pretty hard to get into. So that giving your kid an education that gives them "choices" means giving them an education that's strong, deep and wide academically. Which starts to look a lot like fighting for a birth in an elite high school, whether public or private.... |
This is the result of a STA education? Okay, Sidwell it is! |
Before signing on the dotted line with Sidwell, you may want to consider that this is a hoax. STA men are reknowned (or so it is said) for their way with words. Certainly no true STA product would draft such a sloppy, sexist, and awkward post. |
Surely a berth and not a birth, no? |
| Indeed, sorry! |
| That's one way to get into the school! |
