I've never heard anyone call Kindergarten "Kinder" except a handful of times where I read it on DCUM. I agree, it sounds dumb (and seriously, a very obvious first-time mom word). It's called Kindergarten.

It’s a first time mom word - trying to be cute. They probably call their children “my littles”, too.

The DCUM equivalent of DD, DC, DH, etc., would just be K. Use K'er.

Maybe true in your high-SES school, but not in our economically diverse school where some of the more fortunate families send it extra supplies for the children whose families cannot afford to buy them.

How about telling your kid to give them to the teacher. It’s amazing what kids can do when you give them some responsibility and independence.
