Jamaica vs USMNT in DC last night...

After we lost to Jamaica and Venezuela, if we don't win the Gold Cup, would we see a new head coach for the USMNT? by the way, Mexico is undefeated since Tata Martino took over.

Tab Ramos would be a better future fit. Let's see how Greg B does over the next couple of years before pulling the hook out.

Only a mediocre MLS coach would pick Trapp and Bradley for a squad over Josh Sargent.

This post makes no sense. Trapp and Bradley both play in the 6 position, Sargent is a 9.

Tyler Adams is a 6 for RB Leipzig, a Champions League team. Berhalter left Sargent at home because he had "too many" forwards.

What he should have done was left Captain Backpass and his boy Trapp at home and picked the best forward -- Sargent -- instead. Because if he really plans on relying on a front line of Zardes, Altidore and Arriola, it's gonna be a long, hard scoreless Gold Cup.

Don’t you know? Berhalter likes to play his CDMs at rightback so they can be in the midfield playing passes out of bounds and Jozy, Zardes and Morris know the system better than Sargent. It’s all part of the American Bielsa’s plan.

And to think we could have had the real deal -- Bielsa himself -- instead of the generic imitation.

But but but Bielsa also doesn’t speak English

Read the Atlantic magazine article bout Sidwell Friends scandal that came out yesterday. Those are the same type of parents controlling soccer rosters.

Oh yes-they dominate at 14/15, but can’t trap a ball if their life depended on it.

Way to ignore that the DA produced nearly every player on the U20 team that doing really well right now. Most of them are playing in Europe, and are pretty good at trapping the ball.

DA is a corrupt racket designed to get parents to pay huge sums of money to develop potential pro/NT players so USSF and MLS can hang on to more of their own $$$$.

It's a big reason why small countries like Belgium produce world-class players on a regular basis, while the US rarely does.

Only a mediocre MLS coach would pick Zardes over Sargent for No. 9 position.

True, but then again Bielsa does not have his brother working at the USSF.

Didn't the fans boo them and then the crowed in Cincy did the same?

They play different positions. Zardes can play the wing as well as the forward slot.
Sargent in only a target forward.

I love that people are treating Sargent...who can barely get first team minutes on his club team...as some sort of massive savior.

Well Bremen’s a bit of a step up compared to the Columbus Crew, no? Ffs

Since someone brought up Bielsa above, it reminds me of Mascherano, who was given his Argentina debut by Marcelo despite being warned by others “oh be careful because he hasn’t yet played for the first team”, because he recognized the potential. Over here it’s “oh but he doesn’t play enough for his club, put Altidore, Zardes, and Morris on the roster instead of him”, and he doesn’t get placed on any of the teams in the structure. If you value him so little and he’s not ready, then don’t waste his time and send him to the U20WC or to the U23TC. Personally I hope Boyd starts at striker.
