This is probably a good time to recommend that you get a floatable waterproof phone case. You can take pictures under water with your iPhone. |
I agree with this. |
I agree. I'd tell her I Venmo'd her the money and to check her phone to see if the money was there ![]() Just kidding. I would definitely offer to pay for it if my child did it...but if I was the other mother, I wouldn't accept the payment. I figure it's my phone, my responsibility but I understand that everyone doesn't think that way...and that's ok. |
Aren't iPhone pretty water resistant now? I realize submerging it may not be great, but I thought they had that whole commercial of the guy riding his bike in the pouring rain? |
You're assuming that everyone has the latest iPhone. Probably not a good assumption. |
|
No, it's not okay, because clearly opinions differ greatly and will cost people friendships, reputations, when they disagree. |
If it was my kid, I would pay. |
Just offer to let her throw the preschooler in the pool. Now you’re even! |
So I have a 2 year old and she'd 100% know it was wrong to throw my phone in the water. My 8 month old would easily throw it in and not know it was bad.
Mom's fault for having her phone at the pool and not in a pool case. We use our pool phone cases every time, even if the phone stays in the bag. |
So glad my kids are grown that I don't have to even bother with such hypothetical's anymore. |

This adds a lot to the discussion. thanks. |
Like who pays for the baby or who pays for the damaged car? Yep, no issues with grown kids. |
PP here: my point is that it's okay if they disagree with me. I'll just pay for it myself. Yes, I'll think less of them but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it. |
