what do kids do on playdates once they stop pretend play?

My 14 and 9 year old kids do nothing BUT pretend play. It's really funny to hear the 14 year old introduce all the warfare strategies and international geopolitics that he knows into a stuffed animal plot played with his little sister. She loves it, he can make the game so complex real.

Otherwise they either read or play video games.
