Question for the BRYC parents. Not sure if there is one or 20 responding to this chain. Have a younger DD.
At this meeting where they laid out plans for next year - did they say what they plan to do with the younger age groups? Thinking of moving DD (current U10) over but am wondering if they plan to enter them in NCSL or another league? I heard the U12 group is playing NCSL this season and wonder if they plan to do it with other age groups next year. Also wondering if they have hired additional coaches? One coach for 8 teams seems like a bad idea no matter how great he is at developing players. |
| This is the poster who referenced the parent meeting - it was just for our team/age group (which is older), so they didn't address the younger ages. |
it hurts that our daughters are happy and doing well at BRYC doesn't it? |

F’ing BRYC posts.
I mean go create your own bitch love thread where you can play with each other and let this thread stay on point for once. |
U9-u12 group coach would prefer to not do any league or tournaments if it was up to him. I don't think parents would accept so tournaments are still on the schedule. For the spring season, a coach was hired who is focused on the younger half, while BN focuses on the older half. |
No, quite the opposite. If its working for your daughter there, then great. What does bother me is that you choose to summarily dismiss other people's grievances and perspective because it hasn't been your experience. That sounds like something that coach would say or do. Many parents have issues with him, and maybe you don't, but it doesn't your experience has been shared by everyone. |
| Question about BRYC ECNL at U13 and U14. It seems like roster sizes are quite large (around 30) and that there is a player pool rather than a set ECNL 1 team. In reality, are all of the players in the pool given an opportunity to be rostered for ECNL games or is it the same 16-18 girls each week who actually end up playing? I understand they are considering adding an ECNL 2 team next year as well for regional play. |
And that is the problem. No league = no schedule. We find out at the last minute what is planned for the weekend. May or may not play another team and you won't be told until Thursday or even Fridays some time. It makes it impossible if you have other kids, sports or a life. Very frustrating to constantly have practices changes. You are also on grass a lot so rain impacts your schedule too as do football games and other activities at Robinson. |
This player pool model is in place with the current BRYC U13s. The BRYC U14s are a single team with 17 players who play in ECNL. |
Okay, but the PP was also asking if all 30 players in the pool are given the opportunity to play ECNL? Are all 30 players dual rostered in ECNL and whatever the other league they play in? When are rosters/schedules firmed up? |
SYA parent here. I give our club an A-, overall good communication. They tend to struggle through the first 2 weeks of each season with fields/times, but after that it rarely ever changes. Been with the club for years and it really helps that they own their own fields and augment with county fields so they aren't always fighting with other sports/leagues. |
That sounds ridiculous. Good to hear the bryc 03 parents are having a good experience though. |
| Love how this thread is completely off the tracks. 99% of folks don't care about your petty BRYC crap. The OP asked about a general rating of your club, not a freaking breakdown of each team. Talk about self centered people. |
+1 Go play somewhere else BYRC cultists. |
